The project team, supported by the Department of Energy is planning the seventh in an annual series of advanced water splitting (sustainable hydrogen production) technology pathways meetings. The project spans the range of promising approaches to producing hydrogen from water: Low and high temperature electrolysis, photo-electro-chemical, and solar thermochemical. We are holding the 2025 one at SkySong: Arizona State University Scottsdale Innovation Center- Scottsdale, AZ in May of this year. During the course of the main meeting, the meeting consists of plenary and breakout sessions, focused on protocols and roadmaps that have been developed based on the output of last year’s meeting. The stated objectives are:
With that as background context, our purpose in reaching out to you stems from our goal to raise enough funds so that we can (partially) host a welcome reception on Monday May 5 and a dinner on Tuesday May 6, including food and alcohol. If we have enough sponsorship funding, we will offset costs for international invitees who will provide their perspective on similar international efforts so that we can coordinate rather than duplicate efforts. Support from you and from other sponsors will allow these opportunities, which otherwise, due to legal constraints on government-funded projects, would be forbidden. We think you might agree that functions such as these, aligned with meetings and conferences, provide rich opportunities for informal conversations and establishing important connections amongst researchers, and between researchers and both industry and government participants, and between industry and government.
